AAUW is open to anyone holding an associate or equivalent (RN), baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university. Student affiliation is available to undergraduates enrolled in a two- or four-year college or university.

In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability.

Dues are $132.00 membership year, which includes for National dues,  California State dues, and  for Gilroy Branch dues. The membership year is July 1st to June 30th.
